Melanie Jordan is of Italian Heritage but born in Tokyo, Japan. MJ grew up as a so called Military Brat. Once her family returned to the USA, Brooklyn NY was home. As a vivacious young woman she pursued her collegiate career at Brooklyn College. In 2000 Melanie relocated from "The Big Apple" to Miami, Florida. Melanie then continued her education at Miami Dade College. Melanie's true love of writing began to develop and she published her first book "Open to the Elements" in 2004. It was followed one year later by her second publication "Literatim". Melanie enjoys the constant challenges and learning opportunities that her career provides. A previous career endeavor included working for celebrity DJ Tom Laroc.
Additionally she has also worked for Mr. Melody in Black Watch Studios, and managed 87.7 F.M. in Brooklyn, New York. Melanie's accomplishments include winning numerous writing awards such as the 2005 Nubian Poets Haiku, and the 2006 Prismatic Dreams Poet of the year. Her great loves include her Kitty Cat "Slugger." Melanie is always in the pursuit of higher spiritual enlightenment. Currently she is in the process of writing her third book, a true-crime based novel with a co-author and friend, as well as completing research for a fourth publication, a spirituality novel. Melanie is always in the pursuit of increasing her knowledge base, and enthusiastically loves life.
